Today was the annual high school speech contest at Capitola  Aptos Rotary.  Four students from area high schools competed anonymously speaking on a topic of their choice (see photo below).

Contestants were judged on presentation, style and content, as well as their ability to hold their audience, while  incorporating Rotary values into their topic. The top ranked speaker was Annie Nigh. She spoke about the need for clean water around the world, winning a $200 scholarship. Second and third place winners won $100 and $50 scholarships respectively.
