The Soquel interact club gave us an update on club  activities. There are 25-30 members. This year’s two presidents spoke about their exchange program in Kenya and Meals on Wheels Charity dinner coming up in April (no date yet) .Two other students had just returned from the President’s Winter retreat  where  they learned about time management and professionalism . They said they were inspired to be more active in interact.

Pam Arnsberger did her red badge talk. She covered the time she went to UCSC (with a Rotary scholarship) and UC Berkeley. She spoke of her career in social work and later as a professor and researcher in the field of gerontology. She currently is a horticulture student at Cabrillo, a volunteer master gardener and serves on the local Seniors Council. She enjoys Rotary and the opportunities it provides for community service as well as fun and friendships.

Kendra Cleary (in above photo) also gave her red badge talk. She was born and raised in Aptos and home schooled.  She was hired by Eric at the age of 18 by the time she was 23 she was the youngest partner ever in the history of the firm. She does marketing, money movement and other investment tasks. A year and a half ago she left Edward Jones and they began their own firm.  Now they are truly a local business here in Aptos. In her spare time, she is a huge giants fan. Her attraction to Rotary was based on the fact that her mother had polio and she appreciates  Rotary’s commitment to that issue.
